See how each player’s role lines up against this week’s defense — what that defense does, what it has allowed, and how much to trust each number.
For every featured player, the Matchup Lab compares his recent role (snaps, routes, targets and carries) with what this week’s defense has allowed to his position, adds that defense’s scheme tendencies (blitz rate, pass-rush volume, box counts, play-action, screens and motion), and grades how much evidence supports each finding.
Three of this week’s real findings, shown in full. Research, not picks.
LAR has allowed just 19.6 receiving yards per game to tight ends, the fewest in the NFL. McBride's target share has dipped from 29% on the season to 25% over his last three games, and this defense has consistently limited the position.
CLE has allowed 106.8 rushing yards per game to running backs, the 7th-most in the NFL. Henry's carry share has held steady at 79% (78% over his last three games), so his role carries straight into a favorable spot.
TB has allowed just 60.0 rushing yards per game to running backs, the 2nd-fewest in the NFL. Warren's carry share has risen from 76% on the season to 84% over his last three games, which helps offset a tough matchup.
